Privacy

Short version: we keep your email address if you give it to us, and we use it for one thing.

The waitlist

If you join the piano waitlist we store:

  • your email address,
  • when you signed up and which page the form was on,
  • the page that linked you here, if your browser sent one.

We use it to tell you when the piano opens, and for nothing else. We do not sell it, share it or add you to anyone else’s list. Signups are stored with our database provider (Neon) and the site is hosted on Vercel; both process data on our behalf only.

To limit abuse, we count signup attempts using a hashed version of your IP address in hourly windows. We do not store your raw IP address in the waitlist database. Expired counters are removed on the next signup attempt.

The ocarina

The ocarina needs no account, stores nothing about you and sends nothing about your playing anywhere. If you turn on the microphone, the sound is analysed in your browser to hear which note you played; it is never recorded or sent off your device.

Removing yourself

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. Or reply to any email from us and we will delete your address.
